Was born in Italy. She was involved in many television, film, theatre and opera productions, and has worked at the opera houses of Paris, London, Brussels, Berlin, Cologne, Madrid, Chicago, New York, Vienna, Bologna and others, with directors such as Strehler, Ronconi, Espert, Deflo, Wilson, Pasqual, Cavani and others. Among her film credits are Cyrano de Bergerac, Louis Enfant Roi and Le colonel Chabert. Beside the OSCAR for Cyrano, she has received numerous prizes, among them the César, the European critic prize, the Silver Volume as well as the Goya Prize.
