Matilde Rubio Segado was born in Spain. She has performed as a dancer and then worked as choreographer with dance companies in Spain and all over the world. Among her many dance works are Salome, Flamenco Wine and Roses, Poker Flamenco, A Poet’s Compass and many others. She has created choreography for many opera productions including Camren (Bizet), La Vida Breve (De Falla), La traviata, Rigoletto (Verdi), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) and others at the opera houses of Thessaloniki, Alicante, Valencia, Biarritz, Murcia, Sao Paulo, Massy and others. She has received numerous awards for her work.
