Kasper Holten, director, was born in Denmark. His numerous opera productions include Der Ring des Nibelungen, Lohengrin, Tannhuaser (Wagner), Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Die Frau ohne Schatten (R. Strauss),  Beatrice et Benedict (Berlioz), Idomeneo (Mozart), Die tote Stadt (Korngold) and many others. He was the artistic director of the Royal Danish Opera and the director of opera of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. He has worked in opera houses all over the world including in France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Russia and the USA. He has received a knighthood and the medal Ingenio et Arti for artistic achievement from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
