Joshua Bloom, bass, was born in Australia. His repertoire includes Mephistopheles in Le Damnation de Faust (Berlioz), Hunding in Die Walkure (Wagner), The Ghost of Old Hamlet and the Gravedigger in Hamlet (Dean), Faraone in Mose in Egitto (Rossini), Swallow in Peter Grimes (Britten), the title role in Duke Bluebeard’s Castle (Bartok), Kaspar in Der Freischutz (Weber), the solo part in the one-man opera The Garden (Ayres) and others. He performs at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and in the opera houses of Koln, Garsington, San Francisco, Vienna, Washington, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Irish National Opera, English National Opera, Birmingham, Ostrava and others. At the Israeli Opera he performed Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten).
