Hrachuhi Bassenz, soprano, was born in Armenia. Her repertoire includes the title role in Madama Butterfly and in Suor Angelica, Mimi in La boheme (Puccini), Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), Desdemona in Otello, Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Leonora in Il trovatore (Verdi), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Elvira in I puritani (Bellini) and others. She performs at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Vienna Staatsoper and the opera houses of Dresden, Oslo, Strasbourg, Nuremberg, Gran Canaria and others. At the Israeli Opera she performed the title role in Norma (Bellini).
