Ilan Hazor was born in Israel. He has written many plays which were performed by all leading theatre companies in Israel and have received various awards. Among his most known works are: The State Comptroller (after Gogol), Zhako, The White Heart, War on Our Home, Poker and others. He also writes television scripts. He wrote the Hebrew dialogues of this production of Die Entfhurung aus dem Serail. This is his first work for the Israeli Opera.
