Sloane Steven, conductor
Steven Sloane was born in the USA. He is the music director of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and was music director of the Spoleto Festival, artistic director of Opera North in Leeds, music director of the American Composers Orchestra and principal conductor of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. He has numerous opera credits including Die Soldaten (Zimmermann) at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York, Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Grendel (Goldenthal) at the Los Angeles Opera, Anna Nicole (Turnage) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Waiting for Miss Monroe (De Raaff) in Amsterdam, Macbeth (Verdi) in Stuttgart, L’amour des Trois Oranges (Prokofiev) in Berlin, the pairing of Duke Bluebeard's Castle (Bartok) and Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) in Frankfurt and Los Angeles and many other productions. He has also conducted numerous leading orchestra and youth orchestras around the world.
