Lazarev Andrey, choirmaster
Andrey Lazarev is a choirmaster of the Novaya Opera Theatre. He graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory in 1981. In 1980, he was appointed a choirmaster of the State Chamber Choir of the USSR Ministry for Cultural Affairs. In 1986–1993, Andrey was a choirmaster of the Russian State Symphonic Chapel and made numerous CD recordings jointly with the Chapel. Since 1995, he has been a conductor of the “Peresvet” Moscow Chamber Choir.
Andrey Lazarev joined the Novaya Opera in 2000. He has taken part in preparing the following productions: Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden and The Tsar’s Bride, Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, Eugene Onegin, The Queen of Spades, Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Thomas’s Hamlet, Bellini’s Norma, Wagner’s Lohengrin, Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles, Verdi's La Traviata, Rigoletto, Il trovatore, as well as many operas in concert and concert programmes.
