Pavlo Balakin, bass, was born in the Ukraine. His opera repertoire includes Mephistopheles in Faust (Gounod), Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), Tom in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Tolomeo in Gulio Cesare in Egitto (Handel), Salieri in Mozart and Salieri (Rimsky Korsakov), Geronimo in Il matrimonio segreto (Cimarosa) and others. He is a soloist of the Tallinn Opera and also performs in the Ukraine. He also has a vast orchestral and chamber music repertoire. This is his Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Israeli Opera debut.
