Elke Eckardt-Schrem, costume designer, was born in Germany. She studied at the Academy for Arts in Berlin and has worked with leading opera and theatre companies in Berlin as well as at the Bayreuth Festival and opera houses and theatre companies in Frankfurt, Dresden, Bonn, Warsaw and many others. She designs costumes regularly for theatre, ballet, musicals as well as many operas including Der Ring de Nibelungen (Wagner), Arabella (R Strauss), Pelleas et Melisande (Debussy), Die Zauberflote (Mozart) and many others. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
