Turi Mati, tenor
Mati Turi, tenor, was born in Estonia. He began his career as a member of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and since 2005 has become a soloist who performs regularly all over the world. He has performed regularly with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Tallinn Baroque Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Riga Chamber Orchestra, Malmo Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Swedish Radio Choir, the Netherlands Chamber Choir and many others. His oratorio repertoire includes all of the Passions by Bach (both the Evangelist parts and arias), Magnificat, Mass in b minor and numerous cantatas (Bach), Marian Vespers (Monteverdi), Membra Jesu Nostri (Buxtehude), Jephtha, Judas Maccabeus, Messiah, Saul (Handel), Rinaldo (Brahms), Vesper (Rachmaninoff) and many other works. His recent operatic repertoire includes Gernando in L’isola disabitata, Ecclitico in Il mondo della luna, Rinaldo in Armida (Haydn), Florestan in Fidelio (Beethoven), Cassio in Othello (Verdi), the Prince in Rusalka (Dvorak), Mao in Nixon in China (Adams), Alwa in Lulu (Berg), Mephistopheles in Dr. Faustus (Busoni) and other roles. This is his first performances with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA and the Israeli Opera.
