    Sinaisky Vassily, conductor

    Vassily Sinaisky was born in Russia. He is the music director and chief conductor of the Bolshoi since 2010. He was music director and principal conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic from 1991-1996. He is principal conductor of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden and chief guest conductor of the BBC Philharmonic. His numerous international opera credits include Iolanta (Tchaikovsky) at the Welsh National Opera, Carmen (Bizet) and Der Rosenkavalier (R. Strauss) with English National Opera, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Shostakovich) at the Komische Oper Berlin, Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky) in San Francisco, Francesca da Rimini (Rachmaninoff) in Vienna and many others. At the Bolshoi he conducted numerous productions including The Tsar's Bride, The Golden Cockerel (Rimsky Korsakov), Carmen (Bizet), Iolanta, The Sleeping Beauty (Tchaikovsky) and may others.
