Mariya Danilova, costume designer, was born in Russia. In 1983 she graduated from the Moscow 1905 Arts School and in 1990 from the Moscow State Surikov Arts Institute. Her many designs include Falstaff (Verdi), Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), The Nose (Shostakovich), The Gambler (Prokofiev) and many others. She has worked with all leading opera houses and theatre companies in Russia as well as in the opera houses of Prague, Lubeck, Ostrava, Paris and others. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
