Andris Freibergs, set designer, was born in Latvia. He was a set designer at the Drama Theatre in Riga and principal set designer at the Youth Theatre in Riga. Since 1992, he has been the principal set designer of the Latvian National Opera. He has created sets for more than 200 productions all over the world including in Armenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Venezuela, Poland, Germany, Italy and others. His latest works include Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti) and the ballet Otello. He also works as a costume designer. As an artist, he takes part in exhibitions regularly. This is his first work for the Israeli Opera.
