Gottfried Pilz, designer, was born in Austria. He has been designing opera and theatre productions for scores of years in leading opera houses and theatre companies all over the world. Among his opera productions are Der Ring des Nibelungen (Wagner), Duke Bluebeard's Castle (Bartok), Moses und Aron (Schoenberg), Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky), Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky) and many more.

At the Israeli Opera he designed:
