Philip Horst was born in the USA. His repertoire includes the Father in Hagadah Shel Pessach (Dessau), Apollo in The Judgment of Midas (Ince), Simone in Eine florentinische tragodie (Zemlinsky), Tomsky in Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky), Mandryka in Arabella (R. Strauss), Leporello in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Maestro in Prima la musica, poi le parole (Salieri), Telramund in Lohengrin (Wagner), Ulysses S. Grant in The Mother of Us All (Thompson), Scarpia in Tosca (Puccini) and many other roles. He performs regularly at La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the opera houses of Lyon, Athens, Berlin, Frankfurt, Washington, San Francisco and many others.
