Oleg Balashov was born in Russia. His repertoire includes Andrei in Mazeppa, Lensky in Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky), the title role in Parsifal and Siegmund in Die Walkure (Wagner), the title role in Don Carlo (Verdi), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), Kuragin in War and Peace (Prokofiev), Sergei in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Shostakovich) and many other roles. He performs regularly at the Mariinsky, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala, Salzburg Festival and the opera houses of Madrid, Paris, Toronto, Washington and others.
