Alessandro Talevi, director, was born in South Africa. His numerous productions include Alcina (Handel), Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Rigoletto (Verdi), Albert Herring (Britten), L’amour des Trois Oranges (Prokofiev), La Cenerentola (Rossini), Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflote, Don Giovanni, Idomeneo (Mozart), Anna Bolena, Roberto Devereux (Donizetti) and many others. He has directed at the opera houses of Santa Fe, Cape Town, Philadelphia, Florence, Seoul, Turin, Venice, Bergamo, Madrid, Rome, Malmo, Opera North Welsh National Opera and others.
