Jesus Ruiz was born in Spain. He has studied history of art, design and music composition. He has designed for theatre, musicals, dance and film as well as over 50 operas including Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Die Feen (Wagner) at the Theatre du Chatellet in Paris, Partenope (Vinci) at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, La Vida Breve (De Falla) in the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, I due Figaro (Mercadante) for the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Salzburg Festival and Tosca (Puccini) in Beijing.
