Jorma Silvasti was born in Finland. His repertoire includes Steva and Laca in Jenufa (Janacek), Loge in Das Rheingold, Erik in Der fliegende Holländer, the title role in Parsifal, Stoltzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Wagner), Max in Der Freischütz (Weber), the title role in Idomeneo (Mozart), the title role in Peter Grimes (Britten), the title role in Lear (Aulis Sallinen), Jenik in The Bartered Bride (Smetana) and many more. He performs regularly at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna Staatsoper, the Bayreuth Festival, and the opera houses of Los Angeles, Helsinki, Savonlinna, Berlin, Hamburg, Brussels, Paris, Madrid and many more.
