Gavanelli Paolo, baritone
Paolo Gavanelli was born in Italy. His vast repertoire includes all of the Verdi operas including the title role in Rigoletto, Nabucco, Macbeth, Simon Boccanegra and Falstaff, as well as Di Luna in Il trovatore, Amonasro in Aida, Germont in La traviata, Miller in Luisa Miller, Ezio in Attila, Renato in Un ballo in maschera, Posa in Don Carlo and Iago in Otello. Other roles in his repertoire include Scarpia in Tosca, Marcello in La boheme, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Michele in Il tabaro, the title role in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Tonio in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), the title role in Don Pasquale, Dulcamara in L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti) and others. He performs regularly in all leading opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, the Vienna Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Arena di Verona, and the opera houses of Barcelona, Munich, Paris, Venice, San Francisco, Tokyo, Florence, Genoa, Turin, Naples, Bilbao, Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam and many more. He has many CDs and DVDs to his credit.
