Tilley Kaat, costume designer
Tilley Kaat, costume designer
Kaat Tilley, costume designer, was born in Belgium. After completing her studies at the Royal Academy for Arts in Antwerp in 1983, she began her career as a designer for various fashion houses. In 1986, she opened her first shop in Brussels. Her boutique in Paris opened in 1999, followed by a shop in Antwerp in 2005. Far from being present exclusively in the field of haute couture (annual collections and numerous international fashion shows), she also worked for television, film and music. She produced 80 costumes for the European film The Emperor’s Wife in 2002. She created costumes and sets for several television advertisements, including Luminus, and for the film Crusade in Jeans. La traviata (Verdi) is her first operatic creation. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
