Aubrey Lodewyk was born in South Africa. His repertoire includes Malatesta in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), Tesoriere in Un giorno di regno (Verdi), the title role in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), Gullielmo in Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Albert in Werther (Massenet), Germano in La scala di seta (Rossini), Marcello in La boheme (Puccini), Faninal in Der Rosenkavalier (R. Strauss), Rambaldo in La rondine (Puccini), De Bretigny in Manon (Massenet), Falke in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Yamadori in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Belcore in L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti), Mandela in the world premiere of African Songbook and Jake in Porgy and Bess (Gershwin) in the Cape Town Opera production which toured internationally.
