Rwanqa Ntobeko, baritone
Rwanqa Ntobeko, baritone
Ntobeko Rwanqa (Crown, Porgy), baritone, was born in South Africa. He is best known for his role as Budgets Naledi in the SABC2 television sitcom Stokvel. His operatic roles include Mandela Senior in African Songbook, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Amonasro in Aida (Verdi), Angelotti in Tosca (Puccini) and Morales and Escamillo in Carmen (Bizet). He played Sergeant Mongezi (Morales) in the film opera uCarmen eKhayelitsha and James the Disciple in the feature film Son of Man. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
