Artz Eric, piano
Eric Artz, pianist, was born in France. He started to study the piano at the age of seven. He received his musical training in several French music academies. He entered at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur at age 14 and he obtained a first prize at the Master Cycle. During these training years he studied with Olivier Gardon, Bruno Rigutto, Nicholas Angelich and he participated in master classes given by Mstislav Rostropovitch, Aldo Ciccolini, Jacques Rouvier and Jean Claude Pennetier. He is a Laureate of several International competitions in France (Brest, Jean Françaix, Epinal) as well as the International competition of Geneva, “Ennio Porrino" of Cagliary - Italiy and the Maria Canals competition in Barcelona. He is also laureate from the Fondation Cziffra and Fondation “Natexis Banque Populaire”.
He has played as a soloist with orchestras since a very young age, the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine for Radio France and with the Prague Chamber Orchestra. He has performed in Salzburg, Rome, Cagliari, Geneva, Germany, London and also in Japan.
His performances in France include concerts at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (Paris), at the Festival de Radio France (Montpellier's Corum), at the Chopin Festival (Paris and Geneva) in Nohant with the Quintet of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Festival Liszt in Châteauroux..
