    Emilio Sagi, director, was born in Spain. He was the general director of the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and the artistic director of Teatro Real in Madrid and Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao. He has directed numerous zarzuela, musical theatre, operetta and opera productions including Il mondo della luna (Haydn), Il pirata (Bellini), Il turco in Italia, Otello, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Tancredi (Rossini), La forza del destino, Rigoletto (Verdi), Linda di Chamonix, Lucrezia Borgia (Donizetti), Samson et Dalila (Saint-Saens) and many others. He worked at La Scala in Milan and in the opera houses of Florence, Buenos Aires, Paris, Lisbon, Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington, San Francisco, Houston, Nice, Liege, Tokyo, Pesaro, Seville, Oviedo, Barcelona, Valencia and others. At the Israeli Opera he directed Carmen (Bizet), Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), La Fille du Regiment (Donizetti) and Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart).
