Emmanuelle Favre, set designer, was born in France. She studied interior architecture and scenography in Paris. With Charles Roubaud she designed the sets of Elektra (R. Strauss) and Samson et Dalila (Saint-Saens) in the Mariinsky in St. Petersburg, Die lustige Witwe (Lehar) in Marseille, Nabucco (Verdi) at the Stade de France, Aida (Verdi) in Orange, Carmen (Bizet) in Ljubljana and La Cenerentola (Rossini) for the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, USA. With Nicolas Joël she designed the sets for La boheme (Puccini) in Macerata, Aida (Verdi), Romeo et Juliette (Gounod), Otello (Verdi), Faust (Gounod) at the Choregies d’Orange and Die Zauberflote (Mozart) in Toulouse. With Nadine Duffaud she designed the sets for Tosca (Puccini) and La Vie Parisienne (Offenbach) in Toulouse, Les Pecheurs de Perles (Bizet) in Nice, La traviata (Verdi) and Carmen (Bizet) in Shanghai. Other credits include Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), La serva padrona (Pergolesi), Betrothal in the Monastery (Prokofiev), Pelleas et Melisande (Debussy), Fidelio (Beethoven) and many other productions. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
