Duflot Katia, costume designer
Katia Duflot, costume designer, was born in France. She began her career creating costumes for the 1986 production of Macbeth (Verdi) at the Opera de Marseille where she has also designed costumes for Il trovatore (Verdi), Manon (Massenet), Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti) and The Saint of Bleaker Street (Menotti). Her many collaboration with director Charles Roubaud include Aida (Verdi), Turandot (Puccini), Norma (Bellini), Don Carlo, Nabucco and Il trovatore (Verdi) at the Chorégies d’Orange, Rigoletto (Verdi) at the Arena di Verona, Turandot (Puccini), La traviata (Verdi), Samson et Dalila (Saint-Saens) and Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss) for the Mariinsky in St. Petersburg ; Lakmé (Delibes) and La Cenerentola (Rossini) for Spoleto Festival in Charleston USA ; Nabucco (Verdi) in Basel, Hamburg, Parma, Monte Carlo, Venice and Paris; Die Walküre (Wagner) and Elektra (R. Strauss) at Marseille and Carmen (Bizet) for the Slovenian National Opera. Her other notable credits include Manon (Massenet) and I Capuletti ed i Montecchi (Bellini) at Avignon, Carmen (Bizet) and Tosca (Puccini) at the Choregies d’Orange. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
