Federico Tiezzi, director, was born in Italy. He is a director, actor and playwright and in 1972 founded in Florence his on company, The Caravan. He has directed many theatre productions of plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Beckett, Brecht and other playwrights. His many opera productions include La traviata (Verdi), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini), Carmen (Bizet), Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Dido & Aeneas (Purcell), La sonnambula (Bellini), Il trovatore (Verdi), La clemenza di Tito (Mozart), Andrea Chenier (Giordano), Parsifal and Die Walkure (Wagner), Iris (Mascagni), Don Quichotte (Massenet) and many other operas. He directs regularly in opera houses in Italy and abroad including Naples, Bari, Catania, Trieste, Bologna and others. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
