Jones Doug, tenor
was born in the USA. His wide repertoire of character tenor roles includes close to 100 roles in over 70 operas. New roles recently performed include Harlekin in Kaiser von Atlantis (Ullman), Man with the Donkey in Die Kluge (Orff), the Schoolmaster and the Mosquito in The Cunning Little Vixen (Janacek), Bardolfo in Falstaff (Verdi), the First Jew in Salome (R. Strauss), Spoletta in Tosca (Puccini), Monostatos in Die Zauberflote (Mozart), the Dance Master in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Beppe in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) and many other roles which he performs regularly in opera houses all over North America and Europe including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Seattle, San Francisco, Geneva, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Paris, Salzburg and many others. At the Israeli Opera he sang Vasek in The Bartered Bride (Smetana), the Novice in Billy Budd (Britten), Lucano in L'incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi), Pedrillo in Die Entfhurung aus dem Serail (Mozart) and Bardolfo in Falstaff (Verdi).
