Golden Saturday Series at the Opera

The popular Golden Saturday morning concerts opera series at the Opera House in Tel Aviv continues (May 14) with a program dedicated to baroque operas by Henry Purcell and George Friedrich Handel.
The program will feature arias from Dido & Aeneas and The Fairy Queen (Purcell) and from Gulio Cesare in Egitto and Hercules (Handel). The program was compiled by David Stern, the music director of the Israeli Opera, who will accompany the singers from the harpsichord in this program. He will be joined by a quartet of baroque string players including Jay Bernfeld from the USA.
Participating singers include sopranos Claire Megnaghi, Hila Fahima, Efrat Ashkenazi, Ala Vasilevitsky and Agam Englrad-Saar, mezzo sopranos Shira Raz, Ayala Zimbler, Limor Ilan, Yifat Weisskopf and Na'ama Goldman, tenor Nimrod Grinboim and baritone Yair Polishuk.
The concert is moderated in Hebrew by Michael Ajzenstadt.
