An enrapturing concert, where our music director, Dan Ettinger, and award-winning
German violinist Linus Roth will perform Mieczyslaw Weinberg's Violin Concerto
and Dvořák's Symphony no. 9 (From the New World).
Weinberg's Violin Concerto was written in 1959. Weinberg's close friend and mentor, Dmitri Shostakovich, was the first to voice his appreciation of the work when he
wrote: "I was very impressed by Weinberg's Violin Concerto. It is a tremendous
piece, and I'm saying this having weighed my words carefully.
