Maya Yahav Gour<\/b>, mezzo-soprano, was born in Israel. She began her musical career as a jazz singer performing in New York City and internationally. She was a member of the Dutch National Opera Studio, where she performed roles in La traviata<\/b> (Verdi), Salome<\/b> (R. Strauss), Der Zwerg<\/b> (Zemlinsky), Anna Bolena<\/b> (Donizetti) and Rusalka<\/b> (Dvo\u0159\u00e1k), and returned there to perform Maddalena in Rigoletto<\/b> (Verdi). She joined the ensemble at Oper K\u00f6ln, where she sang Dorabella in Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/b> (Mozart), Si\u00e9bel in Faust<\/b> (Gounod), H\u00e4nsel in H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/b> (Humperdinck) and Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea<\/b> (Monteverdi). Her operatic appearances include major roles with Reisopera, Seattle Opera, Teatro Nuovo and the Oslo Opera House. She also stars as Angelina in a new feature film of La Cenerentola<\/b> (Rossini) directed by Damiano Michieletto. She is the winner of the Rising Star award at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition (2022) and a grand finalist at the Tenor Vi\u00f1as Competition (2023).
