The choir was first conducted by Esti Har Gitai and initiated by Maya Shavit. The members of the youth chorus are children by the age of 9-12, and its main purpose is to provide the children with a musical and artistic experience. The chorus has staged the opera <STRONG>Brundibar<\/STRONG> (Hans Krasa), written in 1938 for children at the Terezin Ghetto, and has also participated in <STRONG>The Empty Pot <\/STRONG>(Lorin Mazel) with the IPO. It has wide repertoire of Israeli and international music, and is usually performing in concerts in Israel.
