Ricardo Tamura was born in Brazil. His repertoire includes Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, Calaf in Turandot, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Luigi in Il tabarro (Puccini), the title role in Otello, Radames in Aida, Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Don Jose in Carmen (Bizet), Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Canio in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), the title role in Tannhuaser, Erik in Der fliegende Hollander (Wagner), Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni) and many others. He performs at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in the opera houses of Wurzburg, Bregenz, Hannover, Koln, Kassel, Wuppertal, Essen, Munich, Erfurt, Hagen, Nuremberg, Tokyo, Dusseldorf, Vienna and others. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
