William Orlandi was born in Italy. His opera designs include Il trovatore, Aida, Falstaff, Otello (Verdi), Romeo et Juliette, Faust (Gounod), Werther, Manon, Therese, Don Quixote (Massenet), Norma, La straniera (Bellini), Roland (Lully), L’Orfeo (Monteverdi), Pique dame (Tchaikovsky), Tosca (Puccini), Carmen (Bizet), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), The Bartered Bride (Smetana), Lakme (Delibes) and many others. He designs regularly for the opera houses of Naples, Palermo, Tokyo, Turin, Glasgow, Copenhagen, Antwerp, Paris, Milan, Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Macerata, Lausanne, Catania, Berlin, Zurich, Pesaro and others.
