Dana Marbach was born in Israel and graduated from the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. She performed the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Mozart) in Palermo and the role of the Voice from Heaven in Don Carlo (Verdi) in Naples, both productions conducted by Gabriele Pero. She also appeared as Belinda and the Personification of Peace in a special production of the opera Dido and Ines (Purcell, Eccles) with the New London Consort, conducted by Philip Pickett, in a production throughout Europe. She recently appeared in a staged production of Baroque cantatas with the German ensemble “I Confidenti” at the New Palace in San Souci, Potsdam. During her studies, she performed many roles including Nanette in Falstaff (Verdi), Despina in So Do All (Mozart), Damigella in The Coronation of Poppaea (Monteverdi), Nedda in Peliaci (Leonquello) and more. She has also appeared as a soloist with The Israeli Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem, with the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, with the Ra’anana Symphonie Orchestra and with the Israeli Chamber Orchestra, and has recorded many works for Kol HaMusica and won prizes in competitions in Israel and abroad. She has won scholarships from the Israeli Institute of Opera Arts (IVAI), the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. She has also won the Sidonia Berkowitz Scholarship for Young Singers. She was a member of the Israeli Opera’s Opera Studio program, where her repertoire included Amore in Orfeo et Eurydice (Gluck), Femina and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte ( Mozart), Seraphina in La Handmaid’s Tale (Pergolese), the Sand Fairy and the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel (Humperdink), and Clorinda in La Cenerentola (Rossini). She also performed the roles of Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) in a special Opera Studio production staged in Israel and Germany. She performed Susanna and Barberina in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) with the New Haifa Symphony Orchestra in a production of the Opera Studio.
