Spinosi Jean-Christophe, Conductor

Jean-Christophe Spinosi, conductor, was born in France. His opera repertoire includes Die ZauberfloteCosi fan tutte (Mozart), AlcinaMessiah (Handel), Veronique (Messager), La pietra del paragone (Rossini), Norma (Bellini), Orlando Furioso (Vivaldi) and others in the opera houses of Paris, Vienna, Aix-en-Provance, Parma, Bilbao, Nancy, Munich and others. In 1991 he founded the Matheus Quartet which eventually became Ensemble Matheus, a chamber orchestra of which Spinosi is the music director. The orchestra performs above all music by Baroque composers in concerts all over the world and in recordings that have won numerous international awards. He also performs as a conductor and a violinist with leading orchestras all over the world.
