Paul Hastie, lighting designer, was born in England. He began his lighting career at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter. He has designed lighting for Opera North, the Metropolitan Opera, the Glyndbourne Festival, Opera Zuid and the opera houses of Vienna, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris and San Francisco. He has lit numerous theatre and dance productions but has specialized in opera since 1980. This is his first work for the Israeli Opera.
