Hubert Francis, tenor, was born in Australia. His repertoire includes Hauptman and Drum Major in Wozzeck (Berg), Chairman Mao in Nixon in China (Adams), Shuisky in Boris Godunov (Mussorgsky), Thibault in Les Vepres Sicilliennes (Verdi), Vitek in The Makropulos Case (Janacek), Harlekin in Der Kaiser von Atlantis (Ullman), Lajos in Oedipe (Enescu), Spoletta in Tosca (Puccini), Yannakos in The Greek Passion (Martinu) and many other roles. He performs regularly at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the opera houses of Amsterdam, Bregenz, Brno, Toronto, Palermo, Helsinki, Dublin and others.
