Babajanyan Karine, soprano

Karine Babajanyan was born in Armenia and graduated from the conservatory in Yerewan. She was a soloist with the Armenian National Opera and of the Koblenz Opera in Germany. Her repertoire includes Desdemona in Otello, Leonora in Il trovatore (Verdi), Nedda in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Mozart), the title role in Madama Butterfly and in Manon Lescaut (Puccini), Mimi in La boheme (Puccini), the title role in Jeufa (Janacek), Agathe in Der Freischutz (Weber), the title role in Norma (Bellini), Maddalena in Andrea Chenier (Giordano), Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Leonora in La forza del destino (Verdi), Liu in Turandot (Puccini), Tatiana in Yevgeny Onegin (Tchaikovsky) and many other roles. She performs at the opera houses of Saarbrucken, Wiesbaden, Hannover, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Mannheim, Oslo, Basel, Budapest, Bern, Hamburg, Koln, Tokyo, the Bregenz Festival, Helsinki and others.
