Yosef Almog Aridan, tenor, was born in Israel and began his musical training at the Buchman-Mehta Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University, where he first appeared as David in the opera Saul and David (Nielsen). He received many scholarships, including the Berkowitz and Grabow scholarships. After completing his undergraduate degree at Tel Aviv University, he continued his singing studies in Rome and Milan, and then with John Horton Murray. In June 2001, he made his debut with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as Tamino in The Magic Flute (Mozart), and has since also appeared with the Philharmonic as Emperor Altoum in Turandot (Puccini) conducted by Zubin Mehta. Abroad, he has appeared at many festivals in modern and liturgical productions, including in Switzerland, Germany, Wales, England, the United States and Italy.
