Don’t Pull My Pigtail

Joseph Haydn

As a young boy, Haydn sang like a nightingale and was the soloist of the famous Vienna Boys' Choir. He was also the most mischievous composer ever: he tied Uncle Franz’s shoes to one another, climbed a tall ladder on the grounds of the palace, the Empress scolded him personally, and, worst of all, he cut the pigtail of the boy who stood in front of him in the choir. Haydn wrote beautiful, charming works that are full of humor. The program features a string quartet, piano, singers and dancers.
