Do Not Miss Tel Aviv's Annual Open Air Free for All Opera Magic
Each summer tens of thousands of opera buffs gather at the open air Ganei Yehoshua in the Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv to enjoy the Israeli Opera and the Tel Aviv Municipality production of Opera in the Park.
After exciting past productions of Nabucco, Carmen, Rigoletto, La traviata and many others – this summer the audience will enjoy the magic of opera with Mozart's magical work – The Magic Flute.
Tel Aviv Yafo mayor Ron Huldai hosts and narrates the performance in which prince Tamino is set on a mission to rescue princess Pamina, the daughter of the all mighty Queen of the Night. Accompanied by the cute yet far from brave bird catcher Papageno, Tamino embarks on a journey of self discovery, a journey which will end with a triumphant success and union with the princess he longs for while Papageno will also find his beloved mate.
International and Israeli opera soloists perform in this magical production under the stars together with the Israeli Opera chorus and the opera orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, all conducted by Israeli Opera Music Director David Stern.
Thursday July 14 at Ganei Yehoshu. The opera starts at 21:00 and the gates open at 19:30.
Come one come all and enjoy the magic of opera outdoors!
And remember it is all free!
