Aida – the Requiem - Jerusalem

Following the huge success of the recent production of Norma at the Israeli Opera, maestro Daniel Oren returns to Israel in June to lead the gigantic open air production of Verdi's Aida by the Mt. of Masada.
Aida, one of Verdi's most popular and most performed operas, reaches the new open air opera house which is being erected these very days by the Mt. of Masada, near the Dead Sea. And there is no doubt that the combination of this majestic landscape and atmosphere with Verdi's sublime music will result in a series of memorable performances sung by some of the greatest opera singers in the world today.
But Aida is only one of three Verdi events presented in this year's Masada, Dead Sea, Jerusalem Opera Festival.
On June 3 the orchestra and soloists of the Arena di Verona, in their local debut, will perform Verdi's amazing Requiem, also in Masada, a performance that will no doubt send shivers down your spine.
And on June 6, Jerusalem will witness one of the most exciting events the city has ever presented – as the Israeli Opera will mount an open air production at the Sultan's Pool of Verdi's rarely performed opera Jerusalem. Jerusalem in Jerusalem!
