Backstage at the Opera

Backstage at the Opera

Always wanted to know what happens at the other side of the curtain? Always wondered how the singers get prepared before they go on stage? Always wanted to see what it means to run a show?
The backstage tours at the Israeli Opera enable you to do just that.
The Israeli Opera offers two kinds of backstage tours:
Regular Friday morning (11:00) 90 minutes tours that take you (conditions permitting) to see the various departments at work. From the stage to the back stage, the costume shop, the wig department and much more. This is your opportunity to learn more about how the Israeli Opera works far away from the audience eyes. Each tour concludes with a little opera aria tasting presented by a member of the Opera Studio.
Special pre performance tours. Condensed 30 minutes tours take place 45 minutes before curtain time (usually at 1845) and show the back stage preparations for the evening performance including watching the singers being made up, warm up and get excited before they go on stage. Tours take place on occasional dates which are posted at our website.
Tickets to both tours can be ordered in advance at the box office: 03-6927777
