The Rhythm of the Drum

The sizzling rhythms and music of the Cuban people come alive in this program which also features salsa, konga and Afro-Cuban sounds like the mambo and the rumba. Come and listen to the music that influenced the Buona Vista Social Club performed by a big band, singers and salon dancers.

Carnival at the Zoo

The baby Saint-Saens was ecstatic when he heard a gentle sound and cried when hearing a shrieking one. At the age of two he played the piano and at six already read music like it was a children's story. He had lots of humor and he loved animals preferring them to human beings. A program featuring excerpts from The Carnival of the Animals and other works with the participation of a puppet theatre company.

Happy Birthday to the King of the Piano

Chopin loved the lullabies his mother sang to him and hummed them already as a baby. His father began teaching him many foreign languages at a very young age. When he was five, Chopin composed a little melody for his father's birthday. He was a child prodigy who loved the folk songs and dances of his native Poland. A program performed by musicians and dancers.
