Smoriginas Kostas, bass-baritone

Was born in Lithuania. He is currently a member of the Jette Parker young artist program at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. His operatic repertoire includes Seneca in L'incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi), Dandini in La Cenerentola (Rossini), Pizzaro in Fidelio (Beethoven), Tomsky in Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky), Masetto and the title role in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Fra Melitone in La forza del destino (Verdi) which he performed at the Lithuanian National Opera, Opera Iceland and other opera houses. At the Royal Opera House Covent Garden he performed Alidoro in La Cenerentola (Rossini), the Marquis d'Obigny in La traviata (Verdi), Angelotti in Tosca (Puccini), Zuniga in Carmen (Bizet), a Flemish Deputy in Don Carlo (Verdi), Bello in La fanciulla del West (Puccini), Schlemil in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), the Mandarin in Turandot (Puccini), the Third Elder in Lohengrin (Wagner), a Journalist in Lulu (Berg) and other roles.
