Mannheim Guy, tenor

Was born in Israel. He graduated from the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and from the Department of Theatre at the Tel Aviv University. He studied at the Tel Aviv Music Academy and in Europe and in New York with several teachers including Wolfgang Millgram and William Schuman. He performs regularly with the IVAI. He is a winner of the Laubach prize at the International Hans Gabor Bellveder singing competition in Vienna, 2005, and the Schloss Rheinsberg Festival 2009 as well as a recipient of scholarships from the IVAI, AICF, the Ronen foundation, the Berkovich scholarship and the New York Wagner Society. In 2000 won the Davidoff prize for outstanding achievements in acting studies. He performed at the Beit Lessin Theatre and in the Musical My Fair Lady. He performed as soloist with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA and the Israel Sinfonietta. With the New York Chamber Opera he sang Spiridione in Il Campanello (Donizetti). He sang Agenore in Il re pastore (Mozart) and Mr. Eiler in Der Schauspieldirektor (Mozart) with the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He sang the Royal Herald in Don Carlo (Verdi) and the Messenger in Aida (Verdi) with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta. Recently he performed the role Claudio in Das Liebesverbot (Wagner) as sang in gala concerts in Germany.
