Luciano di Martino, conductor, was born in Italy. He was the music director of the Bulgarian State Opera in Stara Zagora. He has worked regularly at the Mariinsky Opera House in St. Petersburg where he conducted new production of L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti) and Attila (Verdi) as well as Aida, Don Carlo (Verdi), Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) and La sonnambula (Bellini). He has been conducting regularly at the Hamburg Opera where he made his debut with La traviata (Verdi). Other operas in his repertoire include Tosca, La boheme, Turandot (Puccini), Il trovatore, Otello, Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Macbeth (Verdi) and many others which he conducted in the opera houses of Salzburg, Rotterdam, Lisbon, Thessaloniki and others. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
